This weekend I participated in TAZ ( Temporary Art Zone) in Madrid. Organized by Atelier Solar, an abandoned, centric terrace was lend to several artists to intervene it. It was lots of fun to decide how to use the place for our art and this was my intervention. The dirty tent resulted to be my canvas and I brought up the drawing by cleaning it.
This place will be destroyed quite soon so that was the idea in which I worked with. During my trip in Brazil I lived with this lovely nine year old girl whose life was just starting but it was developing in a delicate environment where her dreams can turn around easily if she´s not smart or lucky enough. She´s the symbol for this work in this beautiful but ephemeral terrace.
Este fin de semana participé en TAZ ( Temporary Art Zone) en Madrid. Organizado por Atelier Solar, esta céntrica y abandonada terraza fue cedida un par de días para que varios artistas pudiéramos intervenirla. Fue muy divertido decidir cómo utilizar ese espacio para nuestra obra y estas fotos reflejan mi intervención. La sucia carpa resultó ser mi lienzo y la estuve limpiando para sacar a relucir el dibujo.
Este lugar se destruirá pronto y ese fue el hilo conductor de mi obra. Durante mi viaje a Brasil conviví con esta linda niña de nueve años que tenía toda la vida por delante pero en un entorno un tanto delicado donde sus sueños pueden ser truncados si no es lista ni tiene suerte. Ella es el símbolo de este trabajo en esta bella pero efímera terraza.
