Exhibition with Atelier Solar/ Exposición con Atelier Solar

Hi everyone! This Saturday I´ll be participating in the 2nd exhibition of Atelier Solar in Espacio Trapezio, Madrid. Here you can check out what we´ve been working on this year and you can even participate in our critic sessions we´ll be having during the exhibition period there. I´ll show two pieces of the last triptych I made, so you are able to see it on live very soon!

¡Hola a tod@s! Este sábado se inaugura Atelier Solar II en la Sala Trapezio, Madrid. Aquí podrás ver lo que hemos estado trabajando cada uno durante este año e incluso podrás participar en las sesiones críticas que se llevarán a cabo durante le periodo expositivo. You mostraré dos piezas del último tríptico que hice así que ¡podrás verlo pronto!

Triptych/ Tríptico

Well, and here´s the whole triptych. A piece where science and art work together in a certain way. My particular fertilization in vitro view… by now since I keep working on this subject. I´ll keep on showing how my work goes on. Stay tuned!

Bueno, aquí está el tríptico entero. Una pieza donde la ciencia y el arte se unen en cierta manera. Mi visión de la reproducción in vitro…por ahora ya que continúo trabajando con este tema. Les iré mostrando más trabajos más adelante. Estén atentos!

3/3 Triptych/ 3/3 Tríptico

And here´s the third piece of the triptych. A kind of in vitro laboratory expressed in three wooden panels of 39″ x 39″ each. A place where anything can happen, dreams can come true or fly away to disappear in the horizon…  From here my support to all the women and couples who go by the in vitro experience.

Y aquí está la tercera pieza del tríptico. Una especie de laboratorio expresado en tres paneles de madera de 100 x 100cm cada uno. Un lugar donde puede suceder cualquier cosa: sueños hechos realidad o que desaparecen en el horizonte… Desde aquí mi apoyo a todas aquellas mujeres y parejas que pasan por la experiencia de la in vitro.

2/3 of Triptych/ 2/3 de Tríptico

Here´s the center piece of the triptych. This one has more spaces combined with graphisms. Working with trial and error as the reproduction assistance, this piece reflects a kind of roadmap where some notes are taken to select, remember or take notice for certain elements next time. In fact, it could work out as a metaphor of the art process too. I could take this painting and take notice of wether it works, should I change anything or discard it. A trial and error work inside another trial and error art work.

Aquí está la pieza central del tríptico. Éste tiene más espacios que son combinados con grafismos.  Al igual que en la reproducción asistida, trabajo con la idea de prueba y error. Esta obra refleja una especie de hoja de ruta donde se toman notas para seleccionar, recordar o advertir de ciertos elementos para la siguiente ocasión. Realmente podría funcionar como una metáfora del proceso artístico también. Podría tomar esta pintura y asumir algunas anotaciones como: ¿funciona, debería modificarlo o incluso descartarlo? Un trabajo de prueba y error dentro de otro trabajo de prueba y error.

1/3 of Triptych/ 1/3 de Tríptico

This is the first piece of a triptych I´ve been working on. My new theme goes around infertility and the assisted reproduction. There´re so many women who have problems to conceive and have to recur to in vitro fertilization. This project starts off the point where all the posible ovules are disposed in the laboratory making a monitoring and control out of them to see which ones are capable of being fertilized and which ones aren´t. 39″ x 39″.

Este es la primera pieza de un tríptico en el que he estado trabajando. Mi nuevo tema aborda la infertilidad y la reproducción asistida. Hay tantas mujeres que tienen problemas para concebir y tienen que recurrir a la fecundación in vitro. Este proyecto parte del punto donde todos los posibles óvulos son dispuestos en un laboratorio y son controlados y monotorizados en un seguimiento por ver cuáles son capaces de ser fecundados y cuáles no. 100 x 100 cm.

Selected for this Mulier Mulieris Exhibition. First of all I want to congratulate all the brave strong women, who fight to make this world a better and more equal place, on our day. This exhibition displays projects that include concepts as memory, identity, control, complaints or resistance that invite the viewer to consider what it´s established, question it and, finally, act.

Seleccionada para la exposición de Mulier Mulieris 2017. Antes que nada quiero felicitar a todas la mujeres fuertes y valientes que luchan por un mundo mejor y más equitativo, en este día. Las propuestas seleccionadas para esta exposición “incluyen conceptos como memoria, identidad, visibilidad, igualdad, control, denuncia o resistencia, que invitan al espectador a reflexionar sobre lo establecido, cuestionarlo y, en último término, a actuar.”

Pieces of a whole/ Partes de un todo

After experimenting with this material (epoxy resin) I´m beginning to work out some pieces. These are the first ones of a whole. They´re done in 15,7″x15,7″ on wood and I´ll do a total of 9 to make a bigger composition which I´ll be finishing and showing soon.

Tras experimentar con la resina epoxi, ya estoy comenzando a crear obra con este material. Estas son las primeras de un todo, hechas sobre madera de 40 x 40 cm y serán un total de 9 piezas para crear una obra mayor que pronto terminaré y mostraré.

Aquí otra pieza hecha con resina. Estoy tan a gusto con esta técnica que me está resultando como una terapia. ; )

Exploring /Explorando

I´m starting a new year with new materials and new theme. This´s the first piece of several I´ll be showing soon. I´m experimenting with resin and I´m quite pleased with the process and its results although there´s a long way to go yet… 11″x 14″.

Comienzo el nuevo año con nuevos materiales y nuevo tema también. Esta es la primera pieza de varias que iré mostrando pronto. Estoy experimentando con resina y estoy disfrutando del proceso tanto como de los resultados aunque aún me queda mucho camino por recorrer…28 x 35 cm.
